Bumrah’s Inclusion Crucial for India’s Comeback in 4th Test, Says Deep Dasgupta

Bumrah’s Return and Workload Management

Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta has emphasized the need to include Jasprit in India’s playing XI for the all-important fourth Test against England. Bumrah missed the second Test but returned for the third. Prior to the series, it was announced that Bumrah would play only three Tests to manage his workload.

Series Situation and Match Importance

India currently trails 1-2 in the five-match series, with the fourth Test scheduled to begin on July 23 in Manchester. Dasgupta, speaking on JioCinema, stressed that the fourth Test is pivotal for India’s comeback.

Dasgupta’s Strong Recommendation

“must play the fourth Test, absolutely,” said Dasgupta. “I’ve heard rumors that the plan was to play him in the first, third, and fifth Tests. But since India is behind, the fourth Test becomes critical. You’d want the world’s best bowler on the field. There’s an eight-day gap between the third and fourth Tests. The fifth Test will only matter depending on what happens in the fourth — and that’s a concern for later. Right now, the fourth Test holds immense significance.”
