England to Play PM’s XI in Pink-Ball Warm-Up

Cricket Australia has announced that England will face the Prime Minister’s XI in a two-day pink-ball match at Manuka Oval, Canberra, on November 29 and 30. This fixture, scheduled between the first and second Ashes Tests, will be England’s first multi-day encounter against the PM’s XI, marking a shift from the traditional one-day format.

The match is designed to help England acclimate to pink-ball conditions ahead of the day-night Test at the Gabba starting December 4. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed enthusiasm about selecting a squad that showcases top talent from across the country to challenge the visiting English side.

This will be England’s second warm-up match of the tour, following an intra-squad game against England Lions in Perth. The PM’s XI match adds to a packed cricket season at Manuka Oval, which will also host T20 internationals featuring Australia and India later in the year.
